Layered Clouds

Here's this week's Illustration Friday! "Layer" another great subject!

I dorked out this week when I listened to a podcast about clouds and weather. Totally fascinating, these processes and cycles that happen all around us. A couple of weeks ago it snowed about a foot all over denver and I just started thinking about cities and weather and how small and obsolete I feel when snow covers the whole town, y'know? It's kinda like, it doesn't matter who or what the city and the structures we built contain, the snow doesn't care, it'll cover it all just the same....man.

Thusly, I decided to begin a series of drawings and digital creations all about clouds! Here's the first sketch. "lenticular clouds".

-Side note: that mountain is Mount Evans, Colorado, the highest peak with road access to the top. Anyone who's ever been up there knows the mountain goats are feisty!
